Current Opportunities:

Operations Manager – Pewaukee Location

Primary Function:  Responsible for all aspects of Operations within the Boehm-Madisen West (Pewaukee) location.  Reporting to the General Manager. Responsible for managing the overall Operations, including but not limited to, the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures. This position also handles the day-to-day operations of Human Resources that focus on departmental development, employment, training and development, employee relations, and compensation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues
  • Lead and direct the workflow of others by assigning and scheduling jobs
  • Handle entire Recruitment process including interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training
  • Communicate job expectations in planning, coaching, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions with employee performance evaluation
  • Continuous training of existing employees
  • Conduct disciplinary action with a corrective action plan
  • Develop employee motivation and rewards program
  • Implement production, productivity and quality control measures
  • Resolve problems
  • Develop Operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping
  • Analyze process workflow and implement changes to maximize productivity
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
  • Communicate with loss control Consultant and safety team to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA
  • Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace
  • Serve as a primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health and safety agencies
  • Manage relationships with key operations vendors associated with the Hickory location
  • Work closely with the General Manager and/or Executive Committee to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • 8 to 10 Years of experience in Operations
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures

Requirements and Experience:

  • Walking, standing, sitting, bending, typing, and ability to lift up to 60 pounds

Machine Operator / Lumber Handler

Primary Function: Assist the Mill/Glue Department with running material to specifications based upon each individual order through the machine.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Move material to/from work station using a forklift
  • Read order specifications to set-up machinery to run order
  • Run tally counts on lumber and verify accuracy of order using tape measure and digital caliper
  • Keep work area clean
  • Assist with performing maintenance and upkeep on mill machinery and equipment
  • Assist yard where needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements and Experience:

  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to read a tape measure and digital caliper
  • Count material accurately
  • Identify various lumber types
  • Ability to perform duties in a shop environment
  • Stand for extended periods of time and do fair amount of walking
  • Physically fit (lift up to 10lbs regularly and up to 60lbs occasionally)

Moulder Operator

Primary Function: Read orders and run material to specifications based upon each individual order through the machine.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Read micrometer
  • Set up and run moulder to profile
  • Verify the accuracy of the order
  • Grind custom knives
  • Upkeep of machinery, quality control
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Other tasks assigned on machines such as the straight-line rip saw, jointer saw, planer, resaw, and sander.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Must be able to read a micrometer
  • Ability to accurately set up machines
  • Machine experience – similar to a CNC machine
  • Identify various lumber types
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Physically fit (lift up to 10lbs regularly and up to 60lbs occasionally)
  • Team Oriented
  • Dependable and reliable attendance
